Notes

Some people have commented that user-groups are not really businesses, so they don't belong in the list. While that may be true from some perspective (mostly, user groups are incorporated not-for-profit) they are an excellent place to go for support, and if you want some hired help then advertising through user-group mailing lists, wikis and web-forums gets you in touch with online expertise.

It might also be argued that some of the above links are research related, so they maybe don't belong either. Well, research ultimately leads to the marketplace, sometimes sooner, sometimes later.

This is just the Sydney area (and a few from country NSW), there are similar numbers of businesses in Melbourne and not a small collection in Canberra too. Perth and Brisbane are rapidly catching up... lots of Linux activity around Australia. It's hard to keep up with it all.
